Happy new year to everyone and I hope you guys had a fabulous holiday! It has been a wonderful season in the House of Platt and other than the fact I feel like I’ve put on 30 pounds, I am embracing 2020 with nothing but love and positivity.
I’m going to start the new year with a review on an amazing product that I have been loving since early December. BellFlower is a new Korean beauty brand whose philosophy is to create simple but very effective products. The products have short but amazing ingredients and without artificial scents and colours.
I was sent one of their newest launches, Azulene Calming Overnight Cream* (US$15.00/15mL) which aims to soothe and nourish the skin and I am here to attest, this cream truly delivers.
I must admit that I was a little perplexed when I first received this cream as I wasn’t sure if it’s supposed to be an overnight mask or a moisturizer. I reached out to the brand and they were quick to reply that it is both. I have been testing it for a month as both and sometimes mixing it with facial oil and the formulation is just beautiful.
Ingredients:
Water, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Glycerin, Camellia Japonica Seed Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil, Beeswax, Butylene Glycol, Glycol Stearate SE, Cetearyl Alcohol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Stearic Acid, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Honey Extract, Cetearyl Glucoside, Arginine, Centella Asiatica Extract, Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Carbomer, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Tremella Fuciformis Extract, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Guaiazulene Sulfonate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Acorus Calamus Root Extract, Perilla Ocymoides Leaf Extract, Caprylyl Glycol, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8
One look at the ingredient list shows the cream contains lots of nourishing and calming plant extracts. The formula is gentle and without any fragrance making it suitable even for the most sensitive skin. While most brands concentrate on Centella Asiatica extract as their main soothing and calming ingredient, BellFlower Azulene Calming Cream key ingredient is Azulene, a dark blue oil extracted from chamomile. It’s a powerful antioxidant known for its soothing and anti-inflammatory properties.
The texture is a lightweight scentless cream which spreads easily on the skin. It absorbs within seconds and forms a protective layer over my face. It layers well with my other skincare regardless of water or oil base and never caused pilling. I do use it solely in the evenings as it truly nourishes, repairs and hydrates my skin overnight.
I have been enjoying this cream for more than a month and the results truly show on my skin. Despite eating everything and anything I wanted and yes, suffered a couple of spots because of it, my skin seems to recover much faster and there is no denying the nourishing and hydration factors. If you are a huge fan of kbeauty or is looking to try a new moisturizer/overnight mask, I highly recommend checking out BellFlower. The price range is very reasonable and it’s obvious that the brand takes great pride in the quality of their products. *Gifted but my thoughts and opinions are 100% unbiased, honest and my own. There is no place for any sort of BS here.
